Neck pain is one of the most common complaints we treat at Healing Star PT — and one of the most frequently misunderstood. Whether your pain started gradually from years of poor posture, came on suddenly after a car accident, or wakes you up at night, our team has the expertise to identify the source and address it effectively.
Many headaches — including tension headaches and headaches that begin at the base of the skull — originate from dysfunction in the cervical spine (cervicogenic headaches). When the joints, muscles, and nerves of the neck are irritated or restricted, they can refer pain directly into the head. Treating the neck often resolves the headaches entirely.
Common causes of neck pain we treat:
- Poor posture and prolonged screen time
- Whiplash and motor vehicle accidents
- Disc herniation or degeneration
- Arthritis and joint degeneration
- Muscle strain and tension
- Nerve irritation or radiculopathy (pain radiating into the arm)
Our approach combines Maitland-certified manual therapy, dry needling (where appropriate), postural retraining, and individualized therapeutic exercise — addressing both the immediate source of pain and the underlying factors that contributed to it.
Don’t accept neck pain or headaches as “just part of life.” Relief is possible.
